Mounting dimensions and tolerances of iglidur® plain bearings depend on the material and wall thickness. For each material, water absorption and thermal expansion are the determining factors. Plain bearings with low water absorption can be installed with smaller bearing clearances. The rule for wall thickness: the thicker the bearing wall, the greater the clearance.

iglidur® plain bearings are press-fit bearings. The inner diameter is only adjusted to the appropriate tolerance after pressing into the housing. The excess dimensions of the press-fit can be up to 2% of the inner diameter. This ensures safe bearing installation. Axial or radial movement in the housing can be reliably avoided.
