The eZtrend QXe is a cost-effective, general purpose DIN size electronic data recorder that easily replaces 100mm paper strip chart recorders, providing the ability to capture continuous and batch data electronically. The data is recorded in a secure digital format, eliminating interpolation errors that can arise from transposing the data from a chart to a spreadsheet for analysis. With a paperless recorder, the data is easily imported into a spreadsheet for further analysis. The paperless solution also provides a graphical display, unlike paper recorders, which generally use either scales or digital displays for displaying the process variables.
The Honeywell X-Series paperless recorders provide features that help users with their unique data acquisition problems. Features like the AMS2750 Process Recording and Report Generation provides documentation that can be used to show compliance to the process specifications when being audited by Nadcap. The Installation Qualification/Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ) protocol function helps pharmaceutical users with their process validation needs. Other functions like Concurrent Batch recording allows user to record up to six different batch records and the Reports function allows users to get preformatted reports directly from the recorder.
Features:
*Analog and Digital I/O - The eZtrend QXe supports up to 12 directly connected analog inputs that handle T/C, RTD and Linear input sensor types. Pulse Inputs (up to 1KHz) can be measured using the digital inputs. Up to eight digital inputs and outputs are available to interface discrete ON/OFF conditions with the recorder; the outputs can be used to trigger an external alarm, activate a switch or valve and the inputs can be used to initiate internal recorder actions.
*Data Storage - The eZtrend stores data to a 70MB internal non-volatile memory which can be expanded to 400MB. The data can be downloaded to a USB key on demand or on a preset schedule in addition to being available over a network connection. The data can be stored on a per pen basis at a rate of 100msec up to 60 hours providing the flexibility to match the storage requirements for most applications. Storage rates can be switched to a secondary rate using the Events capability of the recorder. The patented Fuzzy Logging allows the recorder to be set up to log data based on how the data is changing; this can significantly compress the amount of data being stored, allowing more data to be saved before it is downloaded to the media.
*Data Security - The eZtrend QXe creates encrypted data files that can only be read and analyzed using the TrendManager Pro software tools to insure data integrity. Features include audit trail and password protection for up to four user types with up to 50 individual users with their own passwords. The password system and data security features are designed to meet the requirements of 21 CFR Part 11 for Electronic Records and Signatures.
*Communications Connectivity - The Ethernet capability along with the TrendServer Pro Software provides plant-wide connectivity of the recorder so those that have a need to see and review the data can get easy access to it. An optional RS485 connection is available. The recorder also provides an optional internal OPC Server function that allows for quick connection to SCADA systems without the need for additional intermediate software packages.
*Display and Operator Interface - The eZtrend QXe uses a 5.0†Active Matrix TFT color display that provides a graphical view of the process data. The display provides clear, bright images of the data that can be viewed from a wide viewing angle making it easy to see the information from a distance.
*Event Marker System - The eZtrend QXe has a unique Event Marker system that allows the user to program process actions to cause the desired effect within the recorder or to trigger external actions based on process conditions or logical expressions in the recorder.
*The recorder comes standard with a NEMA 3/IP54 front face protection rating and an optional NEMA 4X/IP66 front face rating to protect it from water in hose down situations.
*The recorder provides an optional 24VDC transmitter power supply that is capable of powering up to six transmitters.
*A unique credit system for firmware options allows the user to easily adjust the options of the recorder to best match the application. Such features include connection to a printer, batch support, remote viewing and control, advanced mathematical calculations, events, totalizers, Health-Watch/maintenance, OPC interface, extra pens and e-mail alarms.
*Software Support Tools - A full complement of software tools are available to support configuration, data analysis, graphing, data archiving, real-time communication, batch analysis and management of the database. These tools make it easy to set up and use the recorder.
